Research Circle is Gartner’s online research community for IT and business leaders like you. Members have the opportunity to voice their opinions and connect on a variety of topics such as industry trends, key initiatives, and Gartner product and service concepts.
Verve Partners Limited ("Verve") is an independent market research company that specializes in building and managing online communities. Gartner has commissioned Verve to manage Research Circle. Verve is responsible for the maintenance of the community panel website, setting up and managing research activities such as surveys and discussions, and community administration. Further information about Verve can be found at www.addverve.com.
When you join, we'll ask you a short set of simple questions to ensure that Research Circle content would be of interest to you. We’ll also ask you things like basic contact information, gender, age, and details about your role and areas of responsibility within your organization. This will create your member profile, and we'll use it to ensure your experience as a Research Circle member is relevant to you.
As long as you want to participate. You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the emails that you'll receive from us. Alternatively you can email sonya@researchcircle-gartner.com requesting removal from the community.
Research Circle is an online research community where you'll be able to give us feedback on a variety of topics; it isn't a social media site.
Your contact information will only be used within the context of Research Circle and will not be used for marketing purposes or to sell you products and services.
If you haven’t had an email for a while, please make sure they haven't been filtered into your junk mail or spam folder.
We try to ensure we only send you surveys that are relevant for you and are based on the needs of the business, so it may just be that recent surveys weren't right for you. We strive to include as many members as possible and have regular quick polls available on the Research Circle site in which all members can participate.
Our goal is to share back with members the findings from each survey. In the Latest Results section of the site, you will find summary reports highlighting high-level findings from our analysts. The summaries will be accessible to you on the Latest Results page even if you haven’t taken part in the research. You will be able to view and review them as often as you like. Note that we will not always be able to provide updates on all research, but that does not mean we’re not using your feedback: All results are shared with and analyzed by Gartner Research.
All activities on Research Circle are designed to run quickly and easily on most computer systems (i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phones). All you need is access to a recent version of a common internet browser and an email account.
Internet access is needed to access Research Circle. If you choose to access Research Circle through a mobile device, charges may be incurred by your network provider based on your mobile device’s data usage package. To avoid data usage charges, a Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
You will be given regular opportunities to take part in surveys that are relevant to you.
You'll be emailed a unique link for each survey you're asked to complete. Simply click on the link included in the email, or cut and paste it into a web browser and complete the survey form online. You can also log into Research Circle and check if there are any new research activities. We aim to keep surveys relatively short because we know you're busy.
Usually between 72 hours to one week.
We'd love you to participate in as many as you can. There's no minimum or maximum, but we may review the membership of Research Circle for members who don't participate.

We make every attempt to respond quickly to member inquiries, and are committed to maintaining a high level of service. On average, we try to respond to messages within a maximum of 48 hours if an inquiry is submitted during normal office hours and on the next available working day if the inquiry is submitted on the weekend or a holiday.

Periodically, we like to surprise and delight our members who contribute regularly by sending gifts such as Amazon.com vouchers. Gartner recognizes that acceptance of gifts is prohibited for federal government and public sector employees in many global jurisdictions where we do business. In the U.S., acceptance of gifts by U.S. federal sector employees is prohibited under 5 C.F.R. Part 2635 of the Office of Government Ethics Regulations and also certain state regulations. If you are a federal government or public sector employee, you are encouraged to contact your in-house legal counsel for additional guidance. You can update your preference regarding receiving monetary gifts by emailing us.

We will use the research and information you give us to support Gartner in developing products and services to better meet your needs. We may publish survey results in the press or use them in our internal marketing materials. All results will be published at an aggregate level and will be kept anonymous. We implemented a single sign on ability to make it easier for people to access the Research Circle portal within the https://gartner.com environment, giving you a seamless experience between the Research Circle portal and all of your other https://gartner.com points of interest.
Verve, our selected 3rd party provider, has been through a vigorous information security process and the Research Circle is a secure site with SSL encryption.
https://gartner.com has implemented administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help prevent unauthorized access.
We adhere to the Market Research Society Code of Conduct, so individual responses to surveys will not be shown. All responses are aggregated and anonymized unless you've specifically given consent to be individually identified.
No, all information is strictly confidential and privacy is guaranteed. Your details will never be sold, exchanged, or distributed to any other party without your express acknowledgment. All of our third-party suppliers are subjected to a stringent vetting process. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, so make sure caps lock is turned off. Check that you're using the email that you used when registering to gartner.com. If you still can't log in using your gartner.com login details, please click here to contact Technical Support.
Your password on Research Circle is now the same password as the one you use to log into the Gartner site. To update it, follow the instructions here. If you still have problems please contact Technical Support.
To change your email address on Research Circle, please contact Helpdesk via sonya@researchcircle-gartner.com with your current email address and new email address you wish to change to. Changing any personal details on Research Circle will not update your Gartner account and vice versa. To update your personal details on your Gartner account, log into gartner.com, then click here to access your Profile. If you’re still unable to update your email address, you can email Client.Response@gartner.com.

If you've just joined Research Circle and have not yet received a confirmation email, you won’t be able to log into the panel. Please check your inbox and click the link in your confirmation email to complete your registration to gain access to the panel.
If you're already a member, please make sure you don't enter extra spaces when typing/pasting in your email address or password. The password is also case-sensitive.
If you can't remember your password, simply click on the 'Reset Password' button. In the new form enter the email address you registered with in the first text box and type the characters you see on the screen in the second text box. Then click 'Request Password Reset'.
You will then be sent a link via email that will allow you to change your password. If you do not receive the email then please contact the help desk.

Depending on your email provider and your personal email settings, some emails sent from automated systems may be diverted directly into your junk mail or spam folder. To avoid this situation, add noreply@circle.gartner.com to your safe sender list, safe recipient list, whitelist (different names are used by different email providers) or to your address book. If you have checked your junk mail folder and have not been able to find your confirmation email, please contact the help desk.
Please allow two minutes for the page to load. Pages may take a few minutes to load depending on your connection speed.
Refresh the page: Either restart or click the refresh/reload button on your browser. In most cases this will load the question properly and will allow you to complete the survey.
Finally, try accessing the survey on a different browser.
When entering a discussion board you'll often see content from the moderator at the top and a list of posts with questions that the moderator has posted for you to answer under Topics. Click into any of the posts you see under Topics and take a look at what the moderator and other members are saying. When you would like to reply to the moderator or another member, click REPLY at the bottom of the post. Write your response and click POST.
If you find a post on the discussion boards that you feel is abusive toward you or another member, please click here to contact the help desk, referencing the post. Our moderators will then review it and if the post is viewed as inappropriate it will be removed. We will also follow up with the member accordingly.
You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the emails that you receive from us, or you can email support requesting removal from the community.
